Citric Acid 20% Solution

Citric Acid 20% solution is a slightly viscous, water-soluble solution recommended as a cleanser and conditioner of prepared root canals. It cleans dentinal tubules and aids in the removal of smear layer material. It also acts as a mild chelating agent, softening dentinal walls for more efficient removal of sclerotic and necrotic tissue which in turn facilitates lubrication during instrumentation.
Citric Acid 20% solution is tinted slightly orange for easy identification. Delivery of Citric Acid 20% is recommended with Ultradent’s NaviTip or NaviTip FX.

Ultradent’s Peak SE Adhesive System

read more »Ultradent Products, Inc. today announced the launch of a new dental adhesive system, PeakTM SE Adhesive System. Peak is a versatile system with options for self-etch and total-etch techniques. Either technique results in bond strengths to dentin and enamel which outperform traditional systems.
Peak SE Primer is a self-etching primer that works specifically with Peak LC Bond Resin to achieve the highest bond possible in a single-step system of conditioning and priming the tooth for adhesion. The ethyl alcohol carrier promotes a consistent coat and penetration which allows for a longer working time, reliable bond strengths and reduced sensitivity. Peak SE Primer is offered with Ultradent’s unique syringe-to-syringe JetMix delivery system to ensure a consistent, fresh adhesive chemistry with every application. The chemistries are activated when the syringe components are mixed together and remain fresh for over 30 days.
Peak LC Bond Resin is a syringe-delivered, light-cured, resin bonding adhesive. Depending on the treatment preference, the resin can be used with either the SE Primer for a self-etch technique or Ultra-Etch for a total-etch technique. Peak LC Bond Resin incorporates a 7.5% nano filler, which penetrates tubules to reinforce and strengthen the hybrid layer. The material has the optimal viscosity to provide a consistent application with greater control in delivery.

Ultradent’s JetMix™ Syringe

JetMix is a syringe-in-syringe system designed to prevent chemical degradation inherent with most single bottle self-etch adhesive systems. Components of the JetMix system are separated by a thin membrane. The chemistries within each component are mixed together when the end plunger is quickly and fully pressed (or JetMixed) into the middle barrel, rupturing the membrane. Once mixed, the self-etch primer remains fresh for over 30 days.
Self-etch adhesive systems which are packaged pre-mixed face specific challenges including degradation of mixed chemistries, which can result in reduced bond strengths. ViscoStat Clear Received Exceptional Rating from CRA Evaluators

UniCore Post and Drill System Improved for Greater Strength and Durability of Multi-Functional Drill

read more »Ultradent Products, Inc. now offers the UniCore Post and Drill System with an improved multi-functional drill. Utilizing the same mechanical design and properties of the previous system, the new drill is designed for greater strength and durability.
The new UniCore drill is designed and manufactured to increase overall performance during post preparation procedures. The new drill has the ability to complete 15 procedures involving the removal of gutta percha – a 50% increase over the previous indication. The new drill is also capable of completing 15 post procedures requiring the removal of rigid-based carriers (e.g. Thermafil®) and at least five procedures where removal of a pre-existing fiber post is necessary.
Other improvements to the UniCore drill include a refined heat-generating tip, which allows the drill to move quickly through gutta percha or Thermafil. The diamond coating surrounding the collar dissipates heat during post or Thermafil removal, which prevents heat transfer and damage to surrounding hard tissue.
The UniCore kit includes highly esthetic posts which are radiopaque and translucent. The posts are tapered in the apical direction to naturally follow the tooth’s anatomy and match the flexural modulus of the root. The pre-stressed fibers and non-violated fiber core contribute to a remarkably strong post which provides maximum protection of the root and retention of the core and crown.
UniCore’s unique packaging greatly simplifies setup, procedure and clean up. The drills are packaged with matching posts in spill-proof modules which are autoclavable. The modules utilize ISO-standard color-coding for easy identification. In addition to the original UniCore Post Placement Kit (contains Size #1-#4), Ultradent now offers a newly-configured kit containing Size #1 and #2 posts and drills.
